The vineyards benefit from a temperate Mediterranean climate that is influenced by the nearby sea.The vineyards are planted on sun-drenched hillsides in the coastal region called “costières” – hence our name – situated between the garrigue and the Etang de Thau.
‘Garrigue’ is the name given to open scrubland made up of low-growing, bushy shrubs including holm oak, juniper, broom and wild herbs such as rosemary, thyme and sage.
The soil, which is mainly clay and limestone is perfect for producing high quality wines in harmony with the terroir.
‘Terroir’ being a particular type of soil/land that is geographically ideally situated and which soil composition is ideal for growing wine.
