Introduction
of the estate
 |
|
Founded
in 1932 , the Pomerols cooperative winery continues to expand
, prosper and modernize to be able produce 55,000 hl of wine with
high gustatory quality; a proof of the uniqueness of their
origines. |
At
least 2 million francs are invested each year in order to improve
the quality of the wines.
Today , the
winery counts 320 full members for a vineyard of 800 hectares
(230 hectares classified as A.O.C. Picpoul de Pinet). Among the six
communes with the classification A.O.C. picpoul de Pinet , Pomerols
is one of the most renowed.
In 1989
the cooperative winery of Pomerols started to experiment vinification
and ageing in casks. In this manner, it is possible to obtain a better
conservation of wines of the piquepoul variety beyond 18 months.
The result prouved a success; different from wines vinified in tanks.
This wine has more complex aromas, is richer, rounder and long on
the palate. It has a complex mix of scents: lemon, vanilla, hazelnut
and grapefruit.
Extract from
the wine guide "Guide du Vin Gault Millau 1992" , «
